Search BlackDog

How To Use BlackDog's Search:

1. Type your keywords in the search box.
2. Use all lower case letters (e.g., a, b, c -- not A, B, C and not Ab, Bc, Cd).
3. Press the 'Search' button to start your search.
4. Spelling counts!

Here's an example:

1. Type 'postcards' in the search box.
2. Press the 'Search' button or press the Enter key.
3. The Results page will show you numerous pages about postcards.

Two examples of what won't work:

1. Type 'EASTER PUZZLES' in the search box.
2. Press the 'Search' button or press the Enter key.
3. The Results page will show you no results although there are actually lots of Easter puzzles.  Why?  Because 'EASTER PUZZLES' is all capital letters.  Try again with 'easter puzzles' and you'll find the link to them.  (They're on BlackDog's Easter page.)

1. Next type 'Word Search games' in the search box.
2. Press the 'Search' button or press the Enter key.
3. The Results page will show you a list of lots of games on blackdog.net but more than likely you won't find the main word search page.  To get to the word search games, start from Billy Beaver's Game Show.

Can't find what you're looking for with a search?  BlackDog's search is limited.  It only searches blackdog.net and might not find something you know for sure is here!  Why?  Because BlackDog's mirror site (blackdog4kids.com) has many pages with popular things like the word games, puzzles and several of the holidays this search engine might not find.

What to do?  First, check the links set out near the bottom of each page on BlackDog.  They're a pretty good guide to finding anything you're looking for on the whole site.  For example, if you are looking for a game of any kind, look at Billy Beaver's Game Show.  If you're looking for postcards, click on the link for the Post Office.  If you're looking for anything to do with art or images, like wallpaper or screen savers, you'll find it on the Internet Refrigerator.  If you can't find it from the main links, then try a search.

Really hate this search?  We don't blame you.  It's not the best -- but it was free, and mostly works.  You can also try BlackDog's Google Search.

Tip:  Don't worry if you find a large number of results.  In fact, use more than a couple of words when searching.  Even though the number of results will be large, the most relevant content will always appear at the top of the result pages.
