Installation Instructions
(Your screen resolution is
)
Windows
- Choose the image size that fits your computer's screen resolution.
- Decide whether you want to have a calendar on your wallpaper or not by unchecking the "Add a Calendar" box or leaving it checked.
- If you want a calendar, the next step is to select the font for your calendar, the font color, size of the calendar, and where you want it to appear on your wallpaper.
- Click the "Make Wallpaper" button. Your wallpaper will appear in your web browser. If you like the wallpaper you created, you must save it to your hard drive.
- When the image has fully loaded in your web browser, right click on the image. A pop-up box will appear. Click Save Picture As, rename the file whatever you like, and select a folder to store the image.
- DO NOT select "Set as Desktop Item...." This will not set the image as your wallpaper. It will set it as part of Microsoft's "Active Desktop" which will either overlap or show behind your wallpaper. You will pull your hair out trying to get rid of it. (See below for some helpful hints if this happens.)
- Change your mind about your wallpaper later? You can overwrite your wallpaper by saving a new image or by going back to what you had before. Right-click the desktop, select Properties, and click the Background tab. In XP, after you select Properties, click the Desktop tab. In Vista, after right-clicking on the desktop, select "Personalize." Highlight the item you want from the list of options and click OK.
- That's it.

drive).

Note: If these instructions do not work for you, check your computer's "Help"
files for how to install computer desktop wallpaper on your system.
Note: BlackDog's Computer Desktop Wallpaper is free for you
to use on your personal computer's desktop only. BlackDog's wallpaper
is not public domain and may NOT be distributed by any means. If you see these
images on another site, you will know that they are being distributed illegally.
Please let us know about it.
Note: Some people have problems changing their desktop wallpaper and having it stay changed.
If you have a problem like that, chances are that when you installed your wallpaper, you selected
"Set as Desktop Item." That did not set the image as your wallpaper. Rather it set the
image as part of Microsoft's "Active Desktop" which will either overlap or show behind your wallpaper.
If that's the case, check to see if you have "Active Desktop" activated on your windows
system. (You'll have to look at your individual computer's help files to find out where that is located and
how to deactivate the Active Desktop.) Try unchecking Active Desktop and then reboot. That should
allow you to change the wallpaper image. There is nothing in any of the images, or anything else,
on this website that would stop you from freely changing your computer desktop wallpaper.
